Overall champion is a separate achievement and not awarded soley from club championship events. It is calculated as follows: PBs achieved from meets, club championships and time trials held during the year from 1st November to 31 October recorded on our Hyytek database. GB points are used to calculate the winner based on time achieved for the distance/event and by swimmers age. The overall age group winners are awarded to the highest GB points for all the events in each age category. It is important therefore that swimmers enter a broad number of distances and strokes in meets throughout the year to maximise their points. If you have any questions let me know Marion

West districts success !
Congratulations to Ross Burns for winning Gold at the West Districts for 15yrs 100 breaststroke and silver in the 200 breaststroke.
Well done to Ross!
To all parents.
It would be really beneficial if we had the backstroke flags out at all the swim sessions, especially on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Would you be able to help? Its not hard but it's not the first thing a coach thinks about when they have lanes of swimmers to get started and supervise, especially the younger ones.
If you are willing to help just see a coach at 6pm Tuesday and Friday and 8:00 am on a Sunday. It will take about 5 minutes if a couple of people help. Many of you sit on the balcony when your children are swimming, it's your club as too. Lets make it better. The coaches will put them away at the end of the sessions.
Land Warm Up.
Swimmers from C1, B, Silver and Gold squads are invited to attend a land warm up session on a Tuesday at 6:30pm. Swimmers should wear swimsuit, jammers and a t-shirt if preferred. Late comers will not be allowed to participate and swimmers found to be misbehaving or carrying on will be asked to sit out until the session is complete.
We will be processing an order for Club hoodies over the next couple of weeks. If you would like to order a hoodie for your child please print a Form from website complete and hand into either Philip or Lesley Griffiths by Friday 1st November.

2013 Club Championships
Just to point out to all swimmers. Overall Champion is a separate achievement and not awarded solely from club championship events. If you want to win overall champ you need to compete in different strokes and distances in meets during year to get those PBs and points in all events. I will post a list of events by age on a separate file.
Overall Champion is calculated as follows:
PBs achieved from meets, club championships, time trials etc during the year from November 2012 to November 2013 are recorded on our Hytek database and overall winner is calculated using GB points. Points are allocated by event/distance for the PB time achieved and for the swimmer's age. It is important therefore that swimmers enter a broad number of events in meets throughout the year to maximise their points. Newcomers are not included in overall winners as they have not been in the club a full year.
If you have any questions let me know. Marion
New Timekeepers required
Your club needs you. We are hoping to run a time-keepers workshop at the pool as we are now very short of timekeepers. This is the first step to getting involved in the club and no experience is necessary . If you are interested or have any questions please contact Lorraine King email@example.com Many thanks.
